Amanda Brugel

(February 27th of 2010 to Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a quiet community located on this part of the island of Montreal called the West Island. It is a bit of a mystery as the West Island can be confusing for those who aren't familiar of its purpose. They often believe it is an island that lies west of Montreal However, the West Island encompasses everything between the cities of Lachine as well as West. Many times, it is credited as the location of birth of Amanda Brugel but while that is the case, her time there was short. Brugel grew in Courtice located just outside of Oshawa. The first goal she had was to become a dancer. Then, a growth increase caused her to surpass every dance partner she was able to have. An article in the Toronto Star article revealed she's six feet tall, with heels. When I reached the height of my male counterparts then I stopped. Bruce was among the former dancers who shifted to acting. The teacher she had at high school was the one who pushed her in the right direction. Teacher who recommended she try to find a role in school's annual play. The teacher who suggested she pursue a part the annual school production. It was the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she studied Theatre and received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in 2000. In the 20+ years that followed, Brugel has landed roles in over 60 shows on the big and small screens. She attracted the most media attention after she was offered the part of Rita in the award-winning television series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel was the sole Canadian actor during the season 1 of the show and was only seen occasionally.
